We just upgraded to 1.6.7 last night and now our Windows server is running at 100% of CPU. Specifically the w3wp.exe is hogging resources. The control panel does come up but it is slow as well. The upgrade was smooth but something is not right. Any ideas on where to look?

Hi, Michael - what is w3wp.exe?  There are absolutely no .exe files with ExpressionEngine.  That file, again, has absolutely nothing to do with ExpressionEngine and does not come from us.

w3wp.exe is a worker process that IIS uses. We are also looking at the antivirus on the windows machine. I was just asking because of the upgrade and to see if any other windows users have had this problem.

I have not heard of any other similar reports.  Do you have a link to the site, so that we can experience this speed issue? =)

Our Sys Admin has the site down right now. I will post the link as soon as it is available.

My oh my, that does take a bit.

If you make a totally blank template with just:

    Hello World

in it, does it load fast?

The blank template is quite a bit faster. Link Has there been any plugin issues with any upgrade since 1.6.4?

    Wow that’s pretty much instant.

Not that I’m aware of; what I would recommend doing is slowly adding bits of your main template into the test template to find out exactly what is slowing it down.
