    Hi

I have a few clients that do not like the way the publish tag works with a lot of sections.
The weblog management lists them by alphabet, but publish is by id apparently.

This looks very messy and hard to find particlular weblogs when there is a lot.

Is there a way one can hack this to show sections by alphabet in the Publish Tab dropdown?

    Thanks

    Bruce2005,

I just checked out one of my sites that has about 20 sections (Weblogs) and they are sorted alphabetically in the Publish tab dropdown. Are you positive yours are sorting by ID?

Also, I have found in the past that when you are managing many Weblogs, your customer might find it easier if you change the Publish Tab Behavior (CP Home ›  Admin ›  System Preferences ›  Control Panel Settings) to None. This will give them a list of Weblogs to choose from rather than trying to use the Hover.

Yes I am certain, it is by weblog id.
So is the owner as he complained about it.
Changing to click (he prefers hover) has same result.

    thanks for the reply

Bruce, that’s not normal behavior. Check that he doesn’t have some sort of extension that might be causing this.

Nope MSM has nothing to do with it. Try disabling extensions.

    jQuery for the Control Panel
    User
    NSM Publish Plus

Are the only ones I didn’t disable just now, sane results and these were added after the out of order weblogs.
I can’t disable these as member settings have to be kept

Bruce, see this video on disabling extensions.

The one that might be causing the problem would be NSM Publish Plus.
