As the admin, is there a way to not only limit a users access to a template group, but also limit their access to only the global variables of that group?

akellehe, welcome to the ExpressionEngine forums.

Global variables are just that, available no matter which template you are in. When you say limit user’s access, are you talking about front end access, or backend access?

I mean back-end access, I’d like to enable a person to maintain a site after it’s published by changing out content by editing global variables but I don’t want them to be able to change the templates.

I think I’d approach it by using Fresh Variables instead, which are similar to global variables. The only thing is that you can’t use IEx to use Fresh variables. Would that be an issue?

I think that could work, I haven’t seen anything about fresh variables, can you suggest a reference?  THanks a lot!
