Sorry silly question, but how could I make an announcement in a forum category visible for anybody (like the help announcement in this forum). I set a post as announcement in a forum category (via ‘more options’) but only registered users can open and view the announcement. Whereas unregistered users can open (view) all posts in the category but not the announcement. All member groups have permission to view posts. If someone click on the announcement post the login-form shows up. Any idea whats wrong.

It’s sounds like a permission issue. Do you’ve got a link? Also, what version and build of EE are you on?

Well, you are right, it’s a permission issue (it took a while for me to find this out, but I got it). I posted the announcement ia a hidden section an made it visible in all forums. The announcement was visible in all forums but it keeps the permission of the original forum (even in the ‘live’ forums). So someone who tried to read the post had to log-in as a ‘valid’ member. I moved the announcement in a different ‘live’ forum, and every things working fine. Thanks for your help. By the way, I’m using EE 1.66 and forum 2.11 (I am completely new in this field but EE allows to built up even complex web-pages (good job guys). Hartmut

I’m glad Ingmar got you squared away.  I’m closing this thread out, but if anything else comes up, please don’t hesitate to start a new thread!
