Is there any way to integrate the two?

If someone that enters a comment is on my mailing list (which is why they’re probably looking at that entry), how can I allow their comment to be exempt from moderation?

It seems like the only way to exempt someone is to set that preference for a particular usergroup. Is there a way to mass “subscribe” people to a user group?

    thank you,

No, there isn’t: the problem is that the mailing list only contains mail addresses, nothing else. So how would EE know that the comment was, in fact, made by a subscriber of your mailing list? It could perhaps compare mail addresses, but everybody entering the valid address of a subscriber would pass.

On the same note, mass-subscribing your list members won’t work either, because EE doesn’t even know their names, only their address.

I’m willing to risk someone snagging someone’s email then going to my blog and posting there. Anyone that would bother to go to such lengths is welcome to entertain me with their spam. :D
