    Hi guys
    I’ve seen recently NetTuts.com website
    http://nettuts.com/category/tutorials/

It looks very promising, mainly for the quality of the articles

I thought then to give back something to the community, by sending nettuts an introductory article about CI, how to get it, install it, and how to make a first template, etc.

    My question is:
Is someone already on this? I mean, for not duplicating efforts…

    Thanks,

@Carp:  I’m on the template bit for another blog (not Net Tutes) + showing how to connect to database and retrieve data successfully. Go for it dude, i think the community over at Net tutes will like it!  Let us know when its done so we can check it out too.

    Cool
I’ve mailed nettuts, and well, if they give me the ok, I’ll begin, because I’ve seen they are in need of other themes
    http://nettuts.com/about/write-a-tutorial/

I think this could be a nice idea to increase CI popularity (even more!!) 😊

I emailed nettuts about a month ago, have written a tutorial and sent it in. Once the cakePHP series has finished they’ll look over it in more depth.

Guess it’s a case of who best fits their style.

    Good luck.

Hopefully this works out.  It would be great if they could feature a series on CI.  As a bit of a newcomer to the framework, it has been difficult finding comprehensive tutorials.  It would be nice for a website with the audience and attention like Nettuts to give a home to such content and maybe inspire some CI developers to maintain some updated resources.

    Hi guys

@Adam, you’re right. Hope both can publish there. I’ve noticed that CI’s user_guide is so complete that maybe there’s no need to send a tut about it, but well, there’s always people who like step by step guides or tutorials and don’t read user_guides

@gmon Yes, it would be great. Hope CI tutorials reach that website. I got very impressed with the tutorials. I’ve not seen a bad tutorial or a tutorial that is not interesting

Good idea to add a tutorial to nettuts.  I had never heard of a php framework until I tried the cakePHP tutorial on nettuts.  Found cakephp to be poorly documented and heard codeigniter was easier to understand so gave it a try.  So cakephp’s tutorial got me to use codeigniter 😊
