I have mixed feelings about this, but can see its usefulness. Could make for a very clean approach to offering Social Bookmarks once it’s more developed.

Yes, “mixed feelings” describes it rather well. It’s an information leak alright, even if only locally available, and I don’t think there’s anything “cute” about it.
