I am using the Free Core Version 1.6.6 and I’m new to EE. I am trying to mock up a page to entice a company to buy a license.

I am using a template that involves images. I cannot figure out how to upload the images and then reference those images. I downloaded and searched the documentation and searched through these forums.

If I missed a helpful article about how to upload and use images, could someone please point me to it?

    Thanks.

Depends on if you’re talking general images (interface, etc) or images associated with an individual weblog entry.

With the former, I use ftp and then just reference the correct path to place them in a template.
With the latter, there is a Upload File link on each Publish/Edit page right below the Preview, Quick Save and Submit buttons. It will allow you to upload and then insert the image link within a text field or you can create a custom field specifically for images.

With a base install, images are usually uploaded to the images directory but you can create whatever directory you want - see file upload preferences in the docs - and upload there.

    Does that help?

    Yes. That helped a lot.

I found the images folder and just referenced the images I’m using in the template with the correct path.

That seemed way too easy to be so hard.
    Thanks a lot.

Cool, glad you have it figured out.
