Had some time tonight, so I thought I’d update my 1.6.4 to 1.6.6. Read over the instructions carefully because in the past I’ve been known to skip a step and things get all sorts of higgly-piggly. Made sure to back up the database proper-like and downloaded all my themes.
So here we go, follow the instructions, get the new directories uploaded, run the update, main page looks good. Cool, load up my Control Panel and…
...what? A warning about cp.display.php? Failed to open stream? What the heck does it mean by stream? Isn’t that something you fish in? Where’s my control panel?!
<insert much freaking out and creative use of four-letter words here>
Immediately I jump into the forums, looking for answers. Robin is helping someone, turns out that someone didn’t have the cp directory uploaded. Surely I did that, I was so careful. Flipping back to Transmit I notice the directories I’d uploaded were all highlighted. With the exception of the cp directory.
Sure enough, I uploaded that, and all is well.
Good lord, my stupidity damn near caused me a stroke.
For some reason my forums aren’t loading - but I’m going to exhaust my options before coming in here and admitting my ignorance. I think I’ve done that enough for one night.
