hi all, i just clicked on the plugin manager today in CP and i got the following exception:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 98304 bytes) in C:\AppServ\www\xengine\xengine\core\core.paginate.php on line 202

any insight as to how to fix this?  am running on 1.64 on a WAMP sandbox with no hickups.

    thanks!

You need to up your php memory- it looks like it’s at the default 8MB.  I’d recommend at least 16MB and I usually go with 32MB or more myself.

You’ll need to check with the host on how to do this- often you can bump it up with an htaccess file, or edit php.inin if you have access- but it just depends.

Make sense?  If you like, I’ll give you a sample htaccess, but the best way is probably to look through your host’s FAQ.  I suspect it will be mentioned there.

ok, i think i got it… i found some “non-compliant” plugins in there, removed from plugin-dir and back to normal.

It could be the number of plugins that’s causing the issue.  If the plugin flat errors, I’d actually expect the error to be a bit different.  Which is not to say some of the plugins won’t error 😉.  But upping the php memory is definitely a good idea.

Glad you’ve got it working for now- and that you’ll check on the memory increase!  If you run into any more issues with it, just start up a new thread.
