Hi, hope this is the right place to ask about Multiple Site Manager’s features.

I watched the screencast for MSM and understand how it would work for different domain names hosted on the same machine / sharing the same DB.  However, I have a site I’m building where the domain name would be the same, but “subfolders” would essentially be new sites.  For example:

    http://mydomain.com/building_a/
    http://mydomain.com/building_b/
    http://mydomain.com/building_c/
    http://mydomain.com/building_d/

Each “building” would have its own admin, unique design, etc., but the top level (http://mydomain.com/) might occasionally show information from a building’s site and vice versa.  This cross-site information sharing seems easy to do with MSM, but I figured if I went with separate EE installs for each building I could remedy this with RSS feeds and some parsing.

So, is the above URL scheme easy to setup with MSM, or should I go with separate EE installs under each folder?

    Thanks!

As long as those sub-folders can access the system directory, then you are all set.  That is a common way to host domains as well - place them in subfolders of the root.
