    Hi,

I have an odd bug in my site - I have four sites (MSM - using Multi Login), and at three of the sites I can logout, but one site won’t let me.

If I click Logout I get Logout Notification message, but it then returns me to the same page and shows I’m still logged in. The weird thing about this is that my configuration is identical for all of my four websites (as far as I know), and that it shouldn’t be possible that one of the four sites has a bug.

I have seen several posts of people who are unable to login, but I’ve only found one person who is unable to logout (http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/89174/). However, I have MSM which could possibly cause the bug (not sure). Therefore, I am posting this new thread, hoping that there is someone who can work with me to get this bug fixed.

If there is any information I need to provide to get this bug fixed, I would be glad to do so.

    Thanks in advance!

Are you using cookies or sessions ids for authentication?

    Hi Ingmar,

    It’s cookies for all sites.

(you mean the User Session option in the Security and Session Preferences menu right?)

As a test, can you please try to clear all cookies from your browser.  Log in, then try to log out.

    Greg,

It’s been “fixed”. Deleting the cookies did the trick. We have had this problem for a while, and we tested this problem on 4 different computers. However, now, by deleting the cookies, it won’t stay logged in anymore. Personally, I don’t understand how only one of four sites could have this problem, but to me the only thing that matters is that the visitors of the site won’t face this issue.

Maybe what caused this is that we used to have the “Remember Me?” option, which we deleted recently.

Thank you for assisting me and sorry to have opened a whole thread for such a simple thing, lol.

That’s what we’re here for.  😉  Cookies can get goofy every now & then.  I’m closing this thread, but please don’t hesitate to open a new one if you run into any more issues.

    Thanks,
