This site just showed up at CSS vault:
    tastyplanner.com
I don’t think it’s an EE site, ya never know though, it’s got some great application features. It reminded me of the jambor-ee project that was in the works, oh so long ago.
EE would be great for this type of site that’s for sure.

http://www.cooks.com/ is a good recipe site, but not nearly as well done on the application level, with all the latest web 2.0 interactive goodies.

What’s your favorite application feature-rich type of site that is or is not built on EE, doesn’t have to be a cooking recipes website?

    [Edit]
Somebody just pointed me to the TastyPlanner about page, where it says it’s built by some RoR wiz kids, not that some devot-ee’s couldn’t of knocked this one out as well. 😊

People around here will point out areas where EE has known limitations, but they don’t turn up too much.

Pretty cool site for sure.  Where the hell is Jambor-ee.. it crashed and burned on day 6 of that tutorial like no other.  Almost a year ago now.

Their graphic is darn cool. And what design there is rocks.

I’d like devot-ee.com better if I didn’t have to Ctrl+A to read the text.

That’s just because you’re old. Heh!

Ok, I found it to be borderline, but in the acceptable range.

I made almost the same comment about a site in the forum introductions the other day, so can feel your pain.

I found the purple/gray on purple font for the credit/copyright at the bottom of the page to be impossible to read without highlighting it though.

Have to see what choices they make on launch.

Hi guys, my goal with devot:ee is to do what jambor-ee was doing and more. With all due respect to jambor-ee guys, I have plans to be around once we launch - and progressively enhance from there. (I’m sure they did too, but client work is a ...yeah, we all know how that goes). devot:ee is the site I wished existed when I was starting with EE - so I’m sort of building it for myself, if you know what I mean - and anyone else who is interested in it is a bonus.

I’m collaborating with another designer on the actual design and user interface of the site - what you see now is a temp page I just put together on a Saturday afternoon to start collecting the email addresses of interested EE users like yourself - users that number in the hundreds as of this writing.

Regarding McGehee’s comment - most likely the site color weights will flip to dark text on lighter background because the site will be pretty content heavy.

I’m working as fast as I can on devot:ee because there is a huge need for that type of site, and I think I can pull off something cool and very useful that will benefit everyone (heck, you should see the dev site I have working now - I’m already using the search feature to find some things more quickly than I can in the EE forums).

Anyway, much like EllisLab, I cant promise a launch date, but I am giving periodic updates on Twitter (devot_ee), and feel free to send any questions or comments you have to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
