I bought myself an iPod touch today, and it is really awesome.
    (I might repeat that 😊 )

Now I want to write something on it (ie. not a note, something longer, like a shorter story or something, for school).
Preferably something with google docs integration or similar.
    I’ve tried mobilewebdocs.com, but I didn’t like it (and it isn’t offline).

So if somebody have any application to recommend, I would be grateful.

Did you look in the App store? I have an iPhone 3G… just got it on Friday 😊

Not too sure what any good apps are.

I did, and I found WritingPad.
But it doesn’t have a feature to load documents from somewhere (manual sync via file, internet, whatever), but it can send things via email.

    btw, I’m still searching

Air Sharing is good for loading/offloading docs. You mount the iPod wirelessly on your desktop as a disc.

I think I saw WriteRoom in the App Store.

So what apps have that air sharing feature?

I have Stanza, but there I can only read the documents, not open and edit them (I can read there and then write somewhere else, but that is really annoying, definitely not for code ideas).

Well, Air Sharing has air sharing 😉

    It’s only a reader, too.

There’s speculation on an iWork app for iPhone. And if Apple can get off their arse and take a moment from hammering out NDAs to developers who get hosed by the App Store, due to present and future “duplicate” functionality, they may just develop it.

I found something recently, but I haven’t got the opportunity to test it (I have no credit card).
It is called TextGuru, and should be able to edit documents, from what I’ve read at their Blog.

An iWork app for iPhone/iPod would be awesome (especially with some kind of integration with mail)!

if I bought a touch the first thing I would do is jailbreak it directions are found at http://www.jailbreakitouch.com/ so you can down load every thing from the app store for free just ssh into the touch and chmod some folders it’s that easy

And no i don’t consider that stealing freaking you can’t rob a thief cause Steve Jobs is a thief for making us pay for every little feature and constantly coming out with new stuff sought of like planned obsolescence to make us buy more stuff now thats a thief

It isn’t possible to jailbreak iPod touch 2g yet (with 2.1.1 firmware) :(.

I did not know that m4 but since you have one why don’t you join the discussion at http://www.ipodwizard.net/showthread.php?t=40473 to try to hack it if you can wrap your mind around doing that. hacking the ipod tutorial or screen cast I think I am going to search the net for one

WriteRoom is pretty good - supports files over Wi-Fi

I think I would be able to wrap my mind around it, but I haven’t got much time to spend on things because of school and work. So sadly it is a no on the hacking thing.

I may be able to convince my dad to let me use his credit card temporarily to buy Air Sharing or something similar.
