Happened with my former site (.com instead of .net) I had about 5000 monthly visitors thanks to some lame photoshop tutorials, but my domain name expired and my host back then was too late to re-register it again. It got absorbed by one of those spamsites… Google took a while to re-index my site too.

Yeah; as much as I hate spam, I will have to chalk this one up to the ‘expired domain’ list. This I believe is namecheap.com’s expired domain parking page.

I can’t stand parking. Its one of the most lame things one can do with a domain while someone else may want it for an actual project.  Its such a waste. Its near impossible to get a good domain. Anyways I’m kinda going off topic here, but I’m nearing completion of my project and yesterday I had to find a .com and took like 1 hour and then I changed my mind at the wrong time and wasted $8, so went back and bought another one that was way better. Then I bought the .net,.org,biz,us,info,ca, to protect my myself from a squater.
But it was awful to find a good .com! Luckily I found one that suited perfectly. 😊

Yup. They are far and few between anymore. Part of the reason why half the the “2.0” stuff is some random made up word that seems to nicely catch on.

The guy who parked an index on my old bramme.com recently contacted me: he wanted 900$ for the domain. That is a very lame way of making money.
