    Hello good people!

I am 4 days into EE, and I will never look back.

I have a question to the community. The answer may be available in the documentation, put I haven’t found it. I want to display a menu with parent categories on the top of my page. When the users choose one of those categories, the child categories will be displayed in a column on the left. How do I do this? If any of you have a link to some documentation on this subject, I’d appreciate a holler.

    Ciao Christer

Edit: I’d also want this menu to dynamically expand when adding new parent categories. But I’m guessing that this will happen anyways. Hence the topic “Create a dynamic menu with categories”

If you could clarify for me. Which are you asking for?

    1) When someone chooses a parent category, then goes to that category page, you want the sub-categories displayed on the left?
    2) Or when someone chooses a parent category, the column on the left is dynamically updated with the sub-categories? (That’s not as trivial.)

The documentation on categories has good info, if you haven’t seen that one already.

It seems like I’m closing in on the solution. I bought a personal license, so I can use the Query module. My guess is that I will have to use some homemade queries. Found this wiki useful.

Anyway Michael, thank you for the response.
