I have some new bloggers starting up, created a group for them, and access is not a problem, but the status insists on defaulting to Closed, and they’re unable to do anything with it. So I have to go in behind them and post the entries.
I’ve checked the general prefs and the individual blog prefs, where the default is set to Open. I’ve been through all of the settings for the group and can’t find anything there that looks like it might be the problem. Help—what am I missing?

Make sure that the weblog in question actually has a status group assigned to it.

It was set to None, so I’ve changed it to Default and will hope that fixes it. Thank you, Ingmar.
