Browsing through the Plugins and Extensions library, I don’t see any sort of version requirements or restrictions, except the Tag Module does say it requires 1.6+

Does that mean that the EE version differences between say my current 1.6.2 and the new 1.6.4 are minor enough that it won’t affect the plugins and extensions that are working for me now?

At what point would the EE version matter to the add-ons?  1.7?  Or only when it goes to 2.0?

    Hiya,

It all really depends on which plugins you are referring to really?

If they are third party plugins then there may be slight changes in the system that may need the plugins / extensions / modules to be re-written. If on the other hand they are first-party then they should usually work very well. You can always usually contact the author(s) of whichever plugin / extension or module it is though and most are very responsive in updating them fairly quickly.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

We know that plugins and other addons will have to be reworked for EE 2.0. (If all goes according to plan, there will be no 1.7.) Apart from that, while we cannot guarantee that certain plugins will continue to work, the changes between, eg, 1.6.2. and 1.6.4 should be minor enough to not break working plugins.
