The new redesign of rockstar designer Jason Santa Maria seems to be built on EE this go round. Jason has authored a few resources on Web Standards and the like that I find myself referring to repeatedly. His portfolio contains some notable sites, such as HappyCog, AlistApart, and Dictionary.com to name a few.
    Pretty cool for EE fans!!

Gives me a thought on a new feature here on the EE site call it “Paparaz-ee Sightings” lmao.
    No really 😊

how can you tell? I have looked all through the site and cannot find any indication of it being an EE site at all…

    Maybe I am missing something?

Regardless his designs pretty much ROCK…

The site is trying to set a cookie:

    exp_tracker ...

    Bit of a giveaway 😊

He also mentions it in his first post with the new art direction concept.

To be honest, I was specifically looking for cookies myself. And, yes, he mentions it, too 😊

Also take a look at Built With - that should help give it away too!! 😉

Definitely a lot easier to read than the existing version I think.

    Best wishes,

That gives me an idea, does anyone use a Firefox cookie manager?
Something that could be set to ask when exp_tracker cookie is being called.

That would be an even quicker check, for if a site is running on EE than using a FF search add-on for BuiltWith and pasting the the url in the search box.
    Call me a nut.

Actually the way I normally do it is with Safari. That is my first browser of choice and all I do is bring up the Security Panel in the preferences and then click on show cookies. I can then use the find dialogue at the top of that window and by typing in the domain name it tells me straight away but there are many many ways to skin a cat I guess (as they say).

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    The plot thickens…
Recommended on the builtwith site blog is a status bar FF builtwith checker.
For a test of it, the BuiltWith blog is built with Wordpress :(
thought maybe it was an EE build for a second.

I was trying not to like J. Santa Maria’s design, but ended up on the bandwagon.
