Has anyone else had a huge problem with gross, porn like websites track-backing to your entries??? I mean, I’ve tried to black list them, but their IP changes all the time!!! I don’t know how to manage this but would like to keep trackbacks. Is this just a shot in the dark to try to control? Any filters I can install?

If you can set up the EE Blacklist/Whitelist module to write to your .htaccess file, the “Download ExpressionEngine.com Blacklist” link in that module should give you a pretty good start for preventing a lot of those, as well as pharmaceutical spam and so on. Blacklisting IPs is far less useful than blacklisting by text string.

The whitelist is a way to set exceptions to blacklist exclusions so that, say, a friend with a domain name that includes a blacklisted string would not be prevented from sending a trackback or posting a comment.
