Does anyone know of an instance where EE has been used as the nucleus for a Document Management and Control System? Such systems usually allow workers who share documents that are under version and level control to conduct review and approval cycles on documents and to archive finished materials. Usually there is some ability to allow guests to login and to see finished works but not other works that are in progress.
Such an application seem to be viable under EE but would need separate capabilities for group meetings - maybe SKYPE could be used for that?
I am thinking that a news room has a cycle of origination of a story, a review / approval cycle for releasing it for publishing and that such a subsystem would be very nice to have in a publishing package. It would provide the back-room functions for a publishing group.
