Is there an email list where I can sign up to be notified of new builds or at least of critical security updates to the core of Expression Engine?

Our non-profit requires that we keep things up to date and that the notifications be active (so RSS doesn’t work well for us).

Hi, Isaac - no, there is not a notification list by email at this time; I’m not quite understanding why RSS won’t work for you, though?

There are free services you can find via Google that will allow you to subscribe to an RSS feed, and it will email you the updates.  Though if you take a few moments to educate people on feeds and feed readers, they’ll thank you and your life will be simpler. 😉

Thanks for the feedback. For our purposes the notifications need to go to an email distribution list.

It looks like I can use a rss feed to email service to accomplish this and subscribe to the build forum. Thanks!

Glad to help, Isaac.  Please keep in mind that the build forum only gives you build updates, not version upgrades.  For notification to these, you can follow the Announcements forum feed, or simply make sure the auto-notification feature is enabled in your control panel, which will alert Super Admins to the fact that a new version is available.
