I’ve completed modifying the profile_theme.php, nothing major except for turning off links/fields that my project site do not require.  I got only the “My Profile” and “Private Messages[+]” menus turned on.  I only need to have users edit/change their email, password, etc. and have them use PM—compose, send, receive, etc. that’s it.  The issue I have is when I login as admin (group_id = 1) I can see “My Profile” and “Private Messages[+]” but when I login as member (ie. group_id != 1) I can ONLY see “My Profile” and the content page is displaying Statistics! and couldn’t access “Private Messages[+]” or even from the url “..index.php/member/messages” directly.

rrainier, taking your custom profile theme out of the equation, does the ability to send private messages show?

{if can_private_message}

is in the default profile_theme.php file. Put in some debug code to see if that’s evaluating like it should.
