    A bit of cleanup:

The version of Form Helper at http://expressionengine.com/downloads/details/form_helper/ is version 1.1, which is very obsolete (Solspace is up to 1.9). In addition, the .zip file there is not structured properly for installation by the CP Plugins page: it creates some subdirectories in the plugins dir. (I had to write a tiny PHP script to remove them, due to file ownership issues.)

Since Solspace manages their own downloads now, maybe just delete the obsolete version?

    Thanks,
    Dan

Thanks for the ‘Heads up’, Dan.  We leave it up to the developer to alert us of any updates, or to request removal.  So best way to get it addressed is to contact Solspace about an update to the Plugin repository.  But I’ll give the crew a ‘heads up’ on it as well- figure out the best policy and implement it.

    Sound good?

Thanks. I’ve contacted Solspace via their web contact form.

We are aware of the issue 😊

Currently, and I’ll admit it openly, Formhelper 1.9 does not quite meet up to full ExpressionEngine standards. At the time EllisLab set the criteria, Formhelper 1.1 was already up, and was grandfathered in.

The Formhelper plugin is really old and could definately use some updating.

That said, we’ve got a new version in the works that will meet complete ExpressionEngine standards, will contain long overdue bug fixes and some new features, including MSM compatibility. 😊

Thanks for the update, Pie Man.  I’m going to go ahead and close this one out.
