    Hi,

On my new board after my name I have a star.

    Lionel*

This has just appeared after another name.

    Joe*

No one else has this star.  I thought it might be for admin rights, but checked the new name and they are just a member.

    What is the star for?

    Thanks

    Lionel

These people have deselected “Show my name in the online users list” when logging in. They are still shown to Superadmins though, with an asterisk. Makes sense?

    Thank you.

    I understand.

    At the moment I have

    Total Logged-in Users: 4
    Total Anonymous Users: 1
    Total Guests: 2

So the star would be the anonymous user?

    Thanks

    Lionel

No, I think they would still be counted as logged-in; which they are, it’s just that their names are not shown in the list to regular users.

    OK Thanks,

Can you tell me difference between Anonymous Users & Guests?

    Thanks

On reflection, I believe you are right: “Anonymous” reflects the total number of people currently online who have chosen not to have their name revealed. Sorry for the confusion.

Actually I am still a little confused.

    Now I have

    Total Logged-in Users: 0
    Total Anonymous Users: 2
    Total Guests: 1

    Active Members:  Lionel*

Just me showing as logged on, and two anonymous users.

I have been confused on how this works since setting up the board.

    Thanks

    Lionel

Well, that’s really all there is to it: Non-anonymous users are dislplayed by name, and anonymous users and guests, which are not logged in, are counted separately. These figures are never 100% accurate: the system cannot determine if a give user is onine right now, only if he was active during a certain time frame.

    Many thanks,

I think I understand how it works now.
