Alright, here’s the deal: I’ve decided to switch from my homemade CMS to EE because its a lot better. My old site already has more then 700 entries in its own database so I have to port them over. This is pretty easy with EE since it has the custom fields. I’ve decided to use the MTImport format to make a .txt file from my old entries and then import it into EE. Pretty easy so far.

Only one problem. The template relies on the fact that all my fields have no formatting except for the Body field.

Can I set in the MT Import Utility to format the Body field in XHTML and rest just ‘none’ or their default values (as set in the custom site fields settings)? The only thing I can find is to set it all to XHTML or None, but it messes up my layout, and it’s a real pain.

You can change and update the formatting of any field at a later point. Just change the formatting, and EE will present you with a checkbox asking whether you want to update existing entries.
