We are in the process of developing seven sites around EE. We already licensed the software, forum, and multi-site add-ons. These sites will be highly customized and require a great deal of ‘tweaking’ and future ‘tweaking’. For obvious reasons we want to setup an identical hosting environment for development which will be an exact mirror of our ‘live’ sites.

All db changes, enhancements, customizations, updates, etc… will first occur in the development environment and once fully tested and approved by upper management, we will publish live on the actual servers.

This brings us to the question - Does EE license allow us to run a development environment for the purposes of testing?

PLEASE NOTE:  We are NOT interested in suggestions that include using the live environment for testing purposes.

Please advise and Thanks for your insight!

Yes, Scruffy.  We do allow you to setup one non-public installation for testing/staging/development purposes.

Thank you Lisa for the quick and ‘make me smile’ reply.
