I have a custom weblog field for email address which are associated with entries. And I call that field within the encode email variable. Like this

{encode="{place_email}"}

This was working fine before upgrading to 1.6.3 last night. It’s still encoding and linking the email correctly, but it’s displaying on the page as this {encode="[email protected]"}

Any clue why?

In case anyone needs to see the actual code

{if place_email != ''} email: {encode="{place_email}"}{/if}

and view how it appears on my site

OK, I can replicate that. What you need to do is turn off “Automatically turn URLs and email addresses into links?” in “Weblog Posting Preferences” for the weblog in question. Makes sense?
