    Hey guys,

We currently use TinyMCE for any WYSIWYG editing, however we used to use FCKEditor, i have been using a web app recently which uses FCKeditor and i have not encountered any problems, where as some clients we have using TinyMCE complain about glitches….which do you rate?

I don’t use WYSIWYG editors, although I do use the Netbeans IDE for features such as code completion, project management, version control, syntax highlighting etc.

I’ve always hand coded everything, since the age of 12 when I first got into programming (well, it started off with web design)

ah, right (considered editing previous post, so he no longer looks like an idiot)
Well, I don’t use WYWIWYG editors on my site either, never had users enter data which justified it.

Lately I’m using one jquery text editor - markitup. It’s not exactly WYWIWYG editor, but it’s helpful, small sized and based on jquery.

There are lots of comparisons between FCK and Tiny try G-o-o-g-l-e. ;P.

Most people use these in applications for the end user content editors. Personally when working with CMSs I disable them but I think it boils down to preference.

Tiny has undergone some nice changes in the new version and I like the amount of active and current documentation. What far too many people don’t realize is that Tiny (and FCK) are totally customisable and so they bitch about the interface and clutter—remove it or create a custom theme.
