Just had to get it out in the open and say I am a very very very very proud husband.

Yesterday my wife took her final Flight Instructor (Helicopters) exam (8 hours long! - and not just sitting down ticking boxes - flying around the examiner too in very difficult exercises) and passed!!!

Actually I never doubted for a second that she wouldn’t as she has been the most dedicated person I have ever seen doing this whole course. In fact anything she sets her mind to she dedicates 110% to.

    I’m really really chuffed!! 😉

Perhaps now we can start to make back a little of the immense amount of money that we have both spent on flying courses and flights which over here is not cheap I can tell you!!

    Best wishes,

    Mark

Congratulations to your wife - what a cool job.

When Airwolf was on TV I dreamed of being a helicopter pilot.

You may or may not want to see this then? 😉
WARNING - This is another LARGE file to load

My dream is to fly a Bell 222 one day. I do fly helicopters but unfortunately nothing quite as expensive as that yet although a friend in America who works for an Air Ambulance service over there and they use a Bell 222 has said that if I am over there then I can have a go!! 😉

I will let my wife know what you said though. Thanks for the kind words.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    Congrats to your wife!!!

I have my pilots license (with instrument) and always wanted to add a helicopter ticket. Could take lessons but I never found a place I could actually rent one on any kind of regular basis. Definitely understand the expense side of the equation, flying anything is expensive.

Yep and especially Helicopters. Around 3 times more expensive than fixed wing but then they can’t go backwards!! 😉 😊 😉

    Congrats to both you!

Thanks Leslie. I really am very proud although I never had a second of doubt in my mind as she is a fantastic student at whatever she puts her mind to. A true professional and a lot of students in this country are going to be getting a fantastic instructor. Sarah (my wife) is actually going to be taking part in the Helicopter World Championships in Germany in August as the first ever ‘rest of world’ team!

An American that she met whilst doing a course in Long-Lining asked her if she would like to take part with him and they have had official clearance to become an international team, the first time ever!

    Best wishes,

    Mark
