    Hello there,

I have been lurking for quite a while here waiting for my web designer (who introduced me to Expression Engine btw) to finish up my new corporate website.

While I am leaving almost all the creative and CMS related matters to him, I have a number of questions on putting some form of a Intra-Extranet on my site. Here are the functions I aim to have:

    User submission (application form)
This would an option seen only where a user will sign up onto the site, and see a number of “registered users only” options on the left sub-menu. Clicking on this would result in going to a SA Entry Form. What I would like to ask is whether the SAEF can 1.) be multi-paged (first page gets personal details such as name and contacts, second page goes to a set of questions, third page another set and so on) and 2.) allow for “save as draft” of which the user can then come back some other time to continue filling up the form. The form will also have a “Submit” option of which once pressed, the user cannot edit the form any further BUT can view the submission.

    Mini-CRM
All users will be given various access levels (ie. Registered, Staff, Management) of which staff will have a number of parameters on a dashboard, of which the parameters and formulaes are set within the system and runs via cron or other similar scheduler (ie. user will see things like Report submission by xx date). There will also be some fields “mini-SAEF” of which are used for functions like monthly finance summaries. The big picture is that the Management will then get their own dashboard which will pull out data from all the staff, prepare reports and alerts and so on.

There are some other functions I would like to work into the system, but some answers on these 2 would go a long way. Appreciate the answers, thanks!

    Hi ncknight,

The features you describe are not included with ExpressionEngine and would require custom add-ons. EE is made to be extended so it could be accomplished by a person/team familiar with php/mysql. We have Developer info that outlines how to create add-ons for EE.
