I run a reasonably busy Invision forum with over 6000 members - while the membership number is fairly small the site is extremely active and there’s usually 90+ people online most of the time.

There are some new features that I’d like to add to the site but I was thinking of developing them in EE.

I’m not confident with straight PHP and MYSQL and the whole Invision skinning and development process is a little too much for me (at least at this stage).

I was wondering if anyone has developed a member bridge for EE so that people could be authenticated via another system (ie. Invision) but EE can pickup their cookie and session and have them authenticated as well.

Is this a big project or is there anything that I might be able to look at for reference?

Not sure it is what you’re looking for, but take a look at http://amember.com/ which seems to bridge a lot of different member systems.

I too would be interested if EE, for the current or planned future builds would support bridging to 3rd party software like Invision Power Board.  I am a current IPB license owner and would *love* to integrate IPB into EE.
