Give an example of “fluff” (not including navel lint) 😛

If you had been any more vague it would’ve been a post about pink bunnies.  What is this ‘fluff’ you’re talking about?  Looking at the Ignited Code section right now, at the very top I see HMVC - no fluff there.  Every single feature in that library (and actually all of wiredesignz’s libraries) was in some way suggested or inspired by the community.

Next is BackendPro, which I haven’t had the time to dig into, but it’s on my todo list.

So we go down one more.  KhACL.  Hands down, no doubt, absolutely no fluff at all.  That library has a purpose, does it’s stuff and then get’s out of your way.

There’s no real point to keep going, just take a look at the amount of feedback those three have.  All of this stuff started out very specific and fed on community feedback.

These ‘personal touches’ don’t come out of nowhere.  You may not need a feature in a library, but that doesn’t mean that other people have no use for it.  If I don’t need anything complicated with lots of ‘fluff’, I’ll take five minutes out of my lunchbreak to code it myself.

I’m not gonna give any examples and start digging on anyone in particular, i think all the work everyone does is awesome. It’s just an opinion I have.

I may just be the only one who thinks this way. Hence just an opinion, and not a fact. 😊

Ok describe “fluffiness” without being specific.

And no disrespect to Ellislab, but the CI core gets a bit hairy in places.

baaah, maybe this thread was impulsive and just let it goes.

Megabyte : having 5 auth library, 2 module libs stuff, i don’t see nothing wrong, and invite you to contribute either.

    see ya around

I think I’ll just repeat what I said above: Bunnies!

    lol @ bunnies.

I think this is a shoot youself in the foot topic, but hey, that’s just my opinion.

Cool.  I think this is one of those things that probably didn’t come out right.  Since everyone’s had a say, I’m going to go ahead and close the thread before someone points out the ascii art bunnies that actually are in the CI core.
