I have an SVN system setup for my blog. I use tortoise to interface with it. Now I wanted to upgrade some files + folders but in the process managed to corrupt my latest revision.

Lets just say some folders got deleted not using the svn commands, its just nasty. Now I tried every which way to get back to a working revision, but every time it says, ‘Skipped XXX since it does not exist in working copy’ Well of course it doesn’t becasue I deleted it by accident.

So what is the correct way to change your working copy back to a previous revision fully?

if it’s deleted in your working copy just do an svn update and you’ll get it back

Delete your working copy and do a checkout.

Once that’s done it’ll say ‘Checked out revision XXX’ (that’s a number)

Then do an svn update to a specific revision… the last one.

    svn update -R 764
