    Hi,
is there a way to automatically approve a new member after successful payment (via the Simple Commerce Module)?

    Thanks,
    Max

What do you exactly mean with “automatically approve”? For the best experience with EE, it is neccessary to have the buyer register and log in to EE before making the purchase - that might be done with self-registration by mail and assigning them to a member group with basically no additional rights. Then, making a purchase via PayPal as a logged in user using the SCM, the SCM can change the user group for that member to a “full” membership. (However, there is no SCM feature out of the box for reoccuring payments or auto-expiry of memberships after a given time.)

    Hi Max,

You can get the SCM to change a persons member group upon successful purchase using the module. Don’t know if that’s perhaps what you mean?

This would mean that someone would first of all register on the site, purchase an item (entry) and then once the payment is successful PayPal will send back data to your site to say that the payment was indeed successful and then that user will have their member group updated to whatever you want it to be.

After this you can use standard template access privileges, conditional logic and anything else that allows you to limit information to certain member groups.

Hope some of that is what you need?

    Best wishes,

    Mark
