I have several selectable skins set up by others and I am now working on a new skin, mostly cobbled together and not ready for to be seen by the average reader of my blog: miceland. I have copied everything to my site. Is there a way I can select the skin without letting me readers see it easily? I need to proof it.

    Thanks for your help.

there are several ways you could do it…

    1. create a new master template - only you will know the location of it so you can call it up in your browser. If you’re just testing you could put the CSS directy into the head of the template for quick tweaking.

    2. Use the excellent Firebug plugin for Firefox and use it to temporarily change the location of the CSS file. Ideal for looking at pages on the live site - only you will actually see the change

I like the 1st idea as the skin involves a series of images.

What file am I copying and renaming though?

Is this done in or out of EE.

Thanks, sorry to be a dunce.
