I’ve got an interesting issue which I couldn’t find any previous discussions on.  I’m using pagination links on the bottom of my main page. All but the 2nd page link works correctly. I can’t figure out why P5 generates a 404 although I’m guessing this may have something to do with my .htaccess mod to remove index.php? Any ideas?

Here’s the link: http://www.americanaroots.com (click page 2 at the bottom to see the error)

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond $1 ^(site|P[0-9]{2,8}) [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L]

fender21, if you rename your .htaccess file, what happens?

/P5/ will work if I reference index.php.  It does not work if I rely on the .htaccess

Hi, fender21, have you considered trying the other methods for removing index.php?  They may give you better results.

I haven’t since this one was working up until this latest discovery.  I’ll look around but it all seems rather complex, so I was happy to get this one going 😉

Just as a note, removing index.php is not officially supported. If you’re having trouble with it working, I can move this up to How To to get more community input.  My next move, personally, would be to test other options - especially since EE itself is working. =)

    Make sense?

I just added P5 to my exclude list and that seems to be working.  That will give me some time to figure out a better way to handle this index.php removal piece.

    Thanks Lisa & Sue!
