I owe you a beer for that Spaces and Finder tip. I love Spaces, use it a lot actually, but hate how Spaces and Finder work by default. I had completely forgotten that Finder is an .app.
Also, WideMail has a ton of potential but it consistently crashes Mail for me after a couple days of use. I subscribed to his RSS to get updates and try new versions. Fortunately Letterbox is an acceptable alternative. It doesn’t have all the nice features but it doesn’t lock up Mail on me either.

Ah, so he did finally release a Leopard version! I’d been using Letterbox on Tiger, but after seeing his “I’ll have it ready for Leopard this weekend” post for many, many months, I despaired of finding a suitable replacement. But you’re totally right, when I’m using WideMail I nickname it “Crashy McHangalot”, since it goes down regularly (I wouldn’t say frequently, but enough to be noticeable). In particular, though, the 2-row stacked message bit is really lovely, and I think Letterbox doesn’t do that (yet). It’s still only at 0.5, so I’m sure he’ll work out a bit more of the stability.
I’ll check out the new Letterbox and see how it stacks up. Thanks!
