    Hi Guys,

I just wanted to see if anyone had some examples of any big sites built on CI like brand names, it would be good to know if their are any big brands built on CI…

I doubt Microsoft or Google are going to port their stuff over to CI anytime soon…

I guess it all depends on what you call a “big brand”.  There are a lot of high traffic sites built on CI, a lot of which you can find links to from the Projects page or from within this forum.

Clearly i’m not talking about MS or Google, thats ridiculous….

I was reading about Drupal, and in comparison you have MTV, Sony etc etc using their platform… i’m just looking to find out if anyone has used CI to power a site of this stature…

CI isn’t as popular as Drupal yet, but that’s mainly because CI hasn’t been around that long and CMS functionalities aren’t included either. If you look at the Ignited Code section you’ll see that there are at least 3 3rd-party CMSs being developed and once they mature, CI will look like a good option. And to top that, Ellislab just announced that ExpressionEngine 2 is built on CodeIgniter. (This should tell you how reliable and usable CI is!) Once the word spread and EE2 gets to the public, I believe both CI and Expression Engine will take a huge popularity boost. If you’re interested in the later, take a look at this:
