    Hiya,

I’m not sure if this has been discussed before or if I am just missing something obvious here but if say someone was to purchase EE 1.6.2 say a day before EE 2.0 gets released and yet they are allowed support for a year what would happen in this case. Are these forums all of a sudden not going to answer their questions or will they get the standard “Please upgrade before we help out any more” answer?

Just wondering how the change is going to go across. Will these forums still support the older versions or will it suddenly all go across to EE 2.0?

Sorry if these are silly questions but thought I would ask as I wasn’t too sure.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

I don’t think I’ve ever been witness to the EE forums or support teams delivering the “please upgrade before we can support you line” or ever done anything other than bending over backwards to help their customers…..

Sure if someone is using an older version and upgrading is going to fix the issue then it’s advise you are running the most recent build - but you’re insinuating that EE might just leave customers without any support if they don’t decide to upgrade a certain site.

I don’t have an answer for you but I’m sure people wont be left in the lurch or felt like they’re being abandoned.

I think it’s fair to say that this information will be announced when they’re closer to a release.

    Hi Dane,

It certainly wasn’t meant to sound like I was insinuating anything. That is quite a strong stance to take and I’m sorry that you thought I meant that. I was just wondering how it will all be handled really but as you say the support team in here are simply superb and I know from first-hand experience on that.

I think I am just going to sit back a bit and see what comes about in the next few months or so.

    Best wishes,

    Mark
