Is it possible to only allow certain users to update specific blogs rather than have general super admin accounts?

Yes, of course.  Just set the permissions for each weblog in the member group that you want to modify.  You’ll want the users with different rights in different member groups, as member groups is where you set those restrictions.

Steven, you have the ability to assign a specific user to a specific blog if you create a user group that allows access to that particular weblog.

For example - you have a weblog or data container called news. You have three members of your site you want to allow to add entries to the news weblog, but you don’t want to let them modify templates, or do anything else other than add/edit their own articles in the news weblog.

You’d create a new member group called news_editors, and base it off of the SuperAdmin group. You’d then further restrict your members depending on how much you want to let them do.

You can even set it so that they can only edit the entries created by them—they wouldn’t even see anyone else’s entries.

Just make sure you pick the news weblog as a weblog the news_editors can access.

    Does this help?

Thanks guys - that really helps.

I’ve been so impressed with the awesomeness of EE. I can’t believe there’s not a lot of developers in the UK that don’t know about it.

Even in publication I’ve never known it to be mentioned. Then again I’ve missed .net in the past few months. Perhaps a good marketing opportunity?
