1.We’ve had a client ask if it’s possible to revert back to a previous weblog entry after they have modified it.  So if I updated a weblog entry today and decided tomorrow I wanted to revert back to the previous version.  I looked through the forums and didn’t see anything.  Is this possible to do in EE?  If so what are the steps required to do this?

2.Also does EE have anything built in for link-checking?

3.Does it have a file check-in / check out feature to prevent simultaneoius edits.

4.Does it have anything for managing/scheduling banner ads?

    Thanks!

    1. Yes, if you have entry revisions turned on, then you can open up old versions.

    2.  Do you mean to see the links are still working? No it does not.  There are thousands of pieces of software that will crawl your site and check links, though…

    3.  You can save the templates as text files and then use SVN or similar for your edits.

    4.  You can use a weblog to hold your ads, but this is very basic. I believe many of our users enjoy using OpenAds with ExpressionEngine.  A custom module could be built for ad management, I just haven’t seen one yet. =)

Do you have a link where I can read more regarding your answer for #3?  Thanks!

Yep, see it here =)  That’s for saving the templates as text files. I have not seen a tutorial on setting this up with SVN, but there are plenty of SVN Tutorials out on the web, so you should be able to work out a solution. =)
