I have been considering ExperessionEngine for some time now. I am currently using Drupal but still a newbie. I want to know how does ExpressionEngine compare to Drupal as far as learning curve, support and ease of use. Especially ease of use. Honesty is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

You might want to search the Pre-Sales forum for “Drupal”, there’s been a number of threads discussing various aspects of both EE and Drupal.

Thanks, I did an initial search and just looked at the headings. Now I’m going through them reading some of the comments.

For me, when I used Drupal last (or tried to) just before I started using EE a year and a half ago or so, I was very confused with Drupal. EE was a different story. I had (and still have) little hiccups every now and then with EE where I don’t know something, but it’s usually easily found in the docs or all I have to do is post here in the forums and I have my answer very quickly.

    Deron,
How easy is EE when you compare it to Drupal for the end user. Say for clients that have very little computer or html experience?

That, I couldn’t give you answer. I mainly develop my own projects and have never worked with any clients like that.

When I used Drupal, it confused me so much that I really didn’t even spend anymore time trying (maybe that was the problem?). But with EE, everything seemed to fit how my brain thinks. Everything just made sense.

Like I said, I can’t speak for Drupal, but with EE, you can definitely set everything up to where the end user does not need to have any html experience. There may be some situations that can’t be avoided, for the most part, it should be like sending an email for the end user. They fill out a form and click submit, and that’s it.

Yep. One can set it up so it’s very easy. Almost everyone has filled out a form.
