I have a question ... should I buy 1.6 version, or should I wait for 2.0 and THEN start learning EE ... because if 2.0 is much different from 1.6 ...

    also ... if I buy 1.6 .... then I won’t get upgrade to 2.0 ... also a good reason ...

any suggestions? seems I cannot find when EE2.0 is going to be out ...

If posted question is stupid, feel free to say so ... I tend to ask a lot of questions, but at the end, my questions give me some pointers in development that I always give back to the community ...

I’d definitely not wait. EE 2.0 isn’t exactly around the corner if there is only a sneak preview in March - see http://camp.ellislab.com … the final may take even longer to appear. And I’d doubt that EE 2.0 is that different from EE 1.6.1 that your learning efforts would be fruitless for the new version.

I don’t think there will be much different, I do think much will be added, but I doubt if you will have to learn EE all over again when 2.0 is released.

No upgrades? If you buy the personal or commercial license, you’ll have all the upgrades during the year in which your license is valid—I am pretty sure that applies to version 2 as well.

    I am not on ExpressionEngine’s payroll, but I don’t believe I am wrong here…
