    Hello

I just recently bought engine expression and by messing around the control panel and so forth I am beginning to love it. My only concern is can I delete all of the templates and start from scratch? Creating my own template group and the design that comes with engine expression. I am going to be following this tutorial http://www.boyink.com/splaat/weblog/category/expression-engine/

Any other tutorials that you guys know of also that would be great to follow?

Hi, Cash - welcome to the forums!

Absolutely you can do that, but might I recommend instead simply using a different template group? The default template can be invaluable for reference (How do I do this? Oh, it’s done in the default? I’ll just steal it!).

And check out jambor-ee.com =)  And, of course our blog and the series there. =)

You can change the Access permissions on the default templates so that search engines don’t pick them up. That way you can have them for reference without worrying that they are negatively impacting your site somehow.

But when I start creating my own how do I direct it to my new design?

    Cash88,

When you create a new template group you can check a box to make its index template the site’s home page. If you forget to do that, you can always do it later by choosing Edit Group and then checking the box.
