We’ve got a need to start collecting lead generation data, and I was wondering if anyone had managed this in EE, maybe via a module or something.
We want to post whitepapers, and allow the sponsor of the whitepaper to ask a few questions of the person interested in the whitepaper. We collect the answers and send them to the sponsor.
It’s pretty standard stuff for this kind of thing, but what makes it tricky is that each whitepaper will have a different set of questions and answers.
I started cobbling something together (on paper) using one weblog for the whitepaper meta-data (title, description etc) and a second weblog to just hold the questions, 1 per record, and then relate the two, and use OpenForm to collect the answers and generate reports, but it quickly started seeming very messy (for the person entering the whitepapers into the system and generating the reports).
So I’m thinking a stand-alone application might be required, but before I go down that path I thought I’d ask to see if anyone has already figured out a way to do it from within EE.
