I am considering EE for a new client and have run into one roadblock:

We would like to be able to have an email notification sent to a specified address when a user updates their profile (name, email, phone number, custom fields, etc). If possible we’d like the email to include exactly what they changed.

Is something like this possible with EE?

It’s not ‘out of the box’, but might could be done via a custom extension.  Let’s see, there’s a hook in there for member_update_preferences- but you really need it for the update profile function.  And I’m not seeing a hook there.

I’d say you’d need a feature request to easily avoid hacking on this one- but the hack would be easy- update_profile() function in system/modules/member/mod.member_settings.php.

Still- best to avoid hacks, so I’d suggest a feature request on this one.  Would be handy to have a hook in there.
