    G’day,

SlideShowPro and SlideShowPro Director has a new “hosted” service -
    http://slideshowpro.net/products/slideshowpro_director/slideshowpro_director_hosting

You get your own subdomain - you.slideshowpro.com - and

      * Secure backups. Nothing is ever lost.
      * Unlimited storage. Upload as much as you want.
      * Unlimited bandwidth.

      * Always up to date with latest version of Director.
      * Nothing to install. Everything set up for you.

    Prices seem very reasonable.

I’ve been kicking the tires on this service and have had success using it in normal HTML.

I’ve just run into an issue where everything works fine in HTML but when I embed the code in an EE template the rendered code won’t load the flash movie slideshow?

I’ve seen some comment that SSP Director won’t ever work outside of the same location as the EE install? - http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/57990/

Does anyone have any direct experience with the hosted SSP Director service within EE templates?  Anyone have it working - somehow?

    Many thanks,

    Thomas

Can you show part of your template code with how you’re calling the SSP url? Do you have a .htaccess file at work there somewhere?

    Hey SMD,

I should have updated this post.

The issue was, I think, that I was following the SSP manual and either mis-read it or it’s missing some bits.

Following the manual I’m using AC_FL and that section of the code needed to be changed as well.

So it seems that you CAN use the hosted Director SSP service with EE!  I’m loving it so far.

If people care they may want to follow this thread?
