    Hi there,

I have a bit of a problem that I need help with. I have a MySQL database (2 ZIP archives, 1 attached to this post and the second attached to the next post, right above (couldn’t think of another way to do this) to get around 150 KB file size limit.) that I have copied from a server that was running Mac OS X Server 10.3.8 running MySQL 4.0.18. This is from a site that I built for a client in 2005.

I now need to restore the database (I have all the original site files from the server) so I can get the site up and running again, then update it to the latest version of EE.

I can’t get the server to fully boot up as it should in order that I can run mysqldump or backup the database using phyMyAdmin or the EE database backup utility.

Can anyone help me create a .sql file from these files in order that I can upload them via phpMyAdmin and get this site up and running again, or point me in the right direction.

I realize that this is not an optimal situation, but it is a problem that I have to solve.

    Thank you for your help.

    Robert

Robert, I merged these and I’m going to move this up to the how-to forum, it might be best to contact someone with this knowledge privately to see if they can help; but this is definitely advanced database manipulation beyond what we can offer in the technical support forums.

    Hi Robert,

Not sure if this is any use at all but I saw it quite a while back now and it might come in handy?

    Big Dump - Database Importer

    Hope it does help.

    Hi Robert,

Sorry please excuse my post as I have just downloaded your files (zips) and see what you mean!!! The link I referenced was more for if you had a large SQL file and wanted to reload it into your system. I can now see what you need to do but unfortunately don’t know of a really easy way to do this.

I’m sure someone will pop-up in here and let you know how to do it though.

Sorry about that and I hope you get it sorted really soon.

    Best wishes,

    Mark

    Hi Robert,

Sorry not to have been able to help on this occasion though. I’m sure someone will be able to though.

    Best wishes,
