    Hi,

I’m working on trying to get the Membership templates to make sense.  I followed the Wiki article, but it leaves a lot to question.  What does {include:content} mean, how can I edit that template, or what that displays?  Where do I edit or find that file?  And why is there so little information or documentation about this module in the Docs?  This was a major selling point for me and when I try to use it I find most responses are negative when it comes to dealing working with the module?  Is there any chance of getting some updated Docs, or an updated version with better integration with the weblog style of the site?  I like how much freedom we have with the weblogs and I wish there was that much freedom with the member section.

Yep. Other than changing the CSS (coloration, widths, etc) it’s a major undertaking.

I would doubt it. When I did it a few versions ago I had three notebook pages filled with notes and things change with versions.

or an updated version with better integration with the weblog style of the site?

It’s been a long standing feature request. We’re hoping that EE2 will bring changes.

The weblog system is brilliant. The membership system was done the way it was for very specific performance issues but now perplexes a lot of us. In addition to the templating, It lacks the granularity needed for full scale ecommerce or most intranets. The weblog module has progressed nicely through the various revisions, the membership module has not.

Is there anyone with ExpressionEngine who can tell me how to edit the {include:content} file?  There is no file named Content in the templates and I am lost!  Please someone just tell me what template to edit.  That’s all I need!!!

Well, I’m not “with” EllisLab but my bet is it’s not a template, it’s probably calling php functions that determine what’s to be displayed, probably what template fragments to pull in depending on what link is clicked or what’s in the URL. If one searches the php files (mod.member for one) in modules > members directory one finds references to “include:content” and $content.
    Could be wrong though 😊
